On September 29th, the IIM Lucknow alumni community came together for Samvaad 2024 held at IIM Lucknow-Noida Campus. The event was filled with insightful discussions and a spirit of innovation. The day began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting, graced by Prof. Ajay Singh, Dean of IIM Lucknow Noida Campus, Mr. Avnish Anand, Co-founder of Caret Lane, Prof. Yash Daultani, Chairperson of Alumni Affairs, and other esteemed dignitaries.
Prof. Yash Daultani extended a warm welcome to everyone, highlighting the importance of personal interactions with industry leaders and the strong network within the alumni community.
Prof. Ajay Singh delivered an inspiring speech on the impact of disruptions, emphasizing the lasting bond we share as alumni with our alma mater and the power of staying connected in an ever-evolving world.
The keynote speaker – Mr Avnish Anand emphasized how major disruptions often arise during challenging times, such as wars, driving rapid innovation out of necessity. While AI is transforming industries by automating processes and improving decision-making, it should be seen as a complement to human creativity and strategic thinking, not a replacement.
The event kicked off with a panel on the “Start Ups: From vision and viability” Industry leaders, including Neeraj Saxena (CEO of Xscale Global), Jaideep Manchanda (VP Digital at Adfactors PR), Prateek Ojha (Founder and CEO of Delberto Ecom Pvt Ltd), Avnish Anand (Co-founder of CaratLane) and Anshita Agarwal (Associate Director at Vaultus Green Funding), shared their experiences on building resilient business models amidst disruption.
The second panel, "Maximizing Impact: Strategy, Analytics & Investment," moderated by Prof. Ranjan, highlighted the role of data and strategic investments in business transformation. Panelists included Nimish Gupta (BCG X), Bheesham Attri (Genpact), Dhruv Malik (Accenture), and Aishwarya Nair (LSEG), who discussed how analytics can drive growth.
The event concluded with a panel on "Driving Sustainability & Marketing Across Industries," moderated by Prof. Kaushik R. Bandyopadhyay. Tejas Chaudhari (Unilever), Chandrashekhar Kumar (EESL), Akanksha Singh (Radisson Hotel Group), and Anubhuti Mittal (MSCI Inc.) explored how sustainability is shaping future business strategies as the part of the panel.
'Samvaad 2024' exemplified the strength of our alumni network in shaping the future of business. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Alumni Committee.

IIM Lucknow Annual Alumni Conclave - Samvaad 2024 was a grand celebration of achievements, memories, and the enduring spirit of our esteemed alumni. This much-anticipated event brought together alumni from diverse backgrounds, generations, and professions, serving as a platform for networking, reminiscing, and inspiring the next generation of leaders. Under the theme "Shaping India’s Growth Story," the event featured four engaging panel discussions that explored the strategies and factors driving India’s growth. Distinguished speakers from diverse domains shared their insights, wisdom, and experiences, igniting conversations that transcended boundaries.
Panel 1: Strategy & Governance, we had the privilege of hosting Mr. Kamlesh Varshney (Whole Time Member, SEBI), Mr. Bhaskar Subramanian (Infrastructure development expert and former member of Niti Aayog) and Ms. Akrati Solanki (Executive Director at Accordion)
Panel 2: Finance featured Mr. Girish Deshpande (SVP, IDBI Capital Markets & Securities Ltd.), Mr. Pavan Goyal (Head - Business Solutions, Clarista Ex-VP, JP Morgan), Mr. Ruishikesh Kamat (Director - Group Treasury, ALDAR UAE) and Mr. Dhruvin Chheda (Chief Of Staff, Nykaa Ex - IB Associate, Avendus)
Panel 3: Entrepreneurship featured Mr. Dev Batra (Co-founder, Lyxel & Flamingo), Ms. Niharika Jalan (Founder, Indicold), Ms. Taniya Biswas (Co-founder, Suta) and Mr. Abhishek Singh (Founder’s Office, SalarySe)
Panel 4: Marketing featured Mr. Venkatadri Ranganathan (Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Chemicals), Mr. Mohit Gorisariya (Co-founder, SalarySe), Ms.Tanya Jain (Head of UK Enterprise Business Development, Amazon Freight) and Mr. Mousom Datta (Key Account Manager, ITC)
This year, the Alumni Committee, IIM Lucknow launched a podcast series and had panel presentations as part of their new initiatives.
Prof. Yash Dalutani, Alumni Affairs Chair, extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined SAMVAAD 2024. He expressed his gratitude by stating, "Your presence and insights made this year’s alumni conclave exceptional. Together, we are shaping the future, and your ongoing support and involvement inspire us to aim even higher. We eagerly anticipate many more enriching interactions ahead."
